Climate Revival's launch event was a blessed and powerful evening featuring rousing performances by Climate Revival's very own Antonique Smith and special guest performer Tony & Grammy winner Leslie Odom Jr mixed with stirring speeches by Climate Revival cofounder Rev Yearwood, Rep. Justin J Pearson, TIME 100 Recipient Sharon Lavigne, Filmmaker Maya Penn and Gulf Coast Activist Roishetta Ozane.
Climate Week 2024
Climate Revival Cofounders had an eventful Climate Week! It began with Rev speaking and Antonique speaking and singing at the Green Leadership Trust Gala, followed by Antonique speaking and singing at Earth Sessions. Antonique was interviewed live on the radio on NYC's 94.7 The Block. Rev and Antonique were interviewed on "We Don't Have Time" which streamed live and was viewed by over 5 million people. And both attended EarthShot Prize, Forbes Sustainability Leaders Summit where Rev spoke, and several other powerful events.
Climate Revival Tour
Climate Revival went on tour! Beginning October 10th in Cancer Alley and ending November 3rd in Newark, NJ Climate Revival's Cofounders held powerful services in 7 cities including Charlotte NC, Atlanta GA, Pittsburgh PA and Philadelphia PA to inform, inspire and mobilize black churches. Each service was anchored by an emotional gospel concert featuring Antonique and a rousing sermonette by Rev and the services also gave voice to local activists who spoke to the environmental justice issues plaguing their communities.
And along the way, they stopped in Los Angeles for the Indigenous Met Gala and the Environmental Media Association Awards both of which featured a performance by Antonique.
Post Tour Happenings
After the completion of a powerful tour, Climate Revival stayed busy! In late November 2024, our cofounders supported partner organization Green The Church at the ribbon cutting of an energy hub installed at a church in Hayward, CA and had a Climate Revival service the following day. Climate Revival also joined the United To End Polluter Handouts coalition to help end fossil fuel subsidies in December.
In February 2025, we participated in a Black History Month program organized by Rise St James in Cancer Alley, then went to Atlanta to speak and sing at a Georgia Interfaith, Power & Light Summit. Following that, we spoke and sang in D.C. at the EGA Conference.
In March, Rev delivered a keynote and Antonique spoke and sang at Yale Divinity School. Then we went on a Freeport, TX toxic tour and held a Climate Revival and marched in the March For Future Generations in Houston in support of the coalition and in opposition to the fossil fuel industries' Cera week; in partnership with Green Faith. We closed out the month at a Plastic Pollution Coalition Dinner hosted by Tom Steyer and Kat Taylor in San Francisco.
Culture
Climate Revival went to Sundance! In January 2025, we had a very eventful trip to the Sundance Film Festival where Antonique and Rev had several days of speaking and singing beginning with Antonique's appearance on Good Day Utah. The next day, at the Hollywood Climate Summit's Earth Lounge, Rev spoke on a panel and Antonique performed. That evening we closed out the Earth Lounge with an emotional speech and song. Then at the ASCAP Music Cafe, Antonique peformed 2 sets and Rev joined to give a powerful speech.
In February, Antonique released a anthemic song called Love Song To The Earth with Grammy winning hitmaker Toby Gad. The release allowed Antonique to do press that highlighted her work as Co-founder and CEO of Climate Revival and speak about Cancer Alley, environmental justice and the United To End Polluter Handouts coalition.
